The fairways are getting greener by the day, though we still have fresh powder in the mountains. Here it is early April and we just had a classic Cascade spring storm cycle that left us with a weekend total of over 20 inches of new snow. Yet when we come down off of the mountain we pass by numerous folks out hitting the links, riding their bikes or running the trails. One colleague even boasted of powder in the morning business in the afternoon. If you enjoy the outdoors and diversity in your activities Central Oregon could be for you.

  

If you are considering moving one of the best locations in Bend to live, work and play (not necessarily in that order) has to be the Broken Top community. The real estate market recovery has spread to this classic gated community nestled in the west side of Bend. The community boasts its own private golf course and club with a beautiful lodge style clubhouse which has one of the best settings for dining in all of Central Oregon. Recently the club members have chosen to open their club house restaurant which features northwest cuisine fine dining to the public.

Homes here average in price from $600,000 to just under the $2,000,000 mark and have seen a renewed interest in the market. Many of the newer listings are seeing fewer days on the market with the better valued properties selling in under sixty days. There are still a good number of homes that have for one reason or another have languished on the market. It is possible that these property owners may have more motivation to work with a buyer to get their property sold and move on with life.
